Our daughter was in first grade, she was doing good, had good grades, always excited about going to school. Then all of a sudden it changed, she was having melt downs about homework, crying over nothing, asking to go the the office almost everyday for something (ear ache, tummy ache, headache). Your extensive evaluation was very informative, it really helped us to understand her better. We are looking forward to implimenting your suggestions in the next school year.
Thank you,
SJ
Being from Blythe, we had little to no options available before we met you. I can’t believe what a difference the diagnosis and recommendations you made has had on our son Taylor! He went from being a kid with disciplinary problems to an honor roll student! He has truly blossomed into a perfect child and student and we couldn’t be happier. With your help and continued partnership, I know Taylor has a bright future ahead of him!

My son he has struggled academically since Kindergarten. It would take hours for him to complete a small portion of homework, and only if we sat with him and helped him through each and every problem. Even after explaining how to do the work, over and over, he still would not understand it. Because he was our first, we wondered if this was normal, if he was just being lazy, or if he was pretending not to understand so that he wouldn’t have to do the work. We thought the school was assigning too much homework, and that it was too hard. Every report card was below average or failing. Every school year they threatened to retain him. We knew he was bright, so we couldn’t understand why he was having so much trouble. I can’t describe how much
As the coordinator of a large high school's Special education program, I sometimes struggle with the placement of students from other districts. When an out of district student enters we make an initial placement based on the current IEP. We then hold a follow up meeting 30-days later. The follow-up meeting allows us to update the IEP and ensure the student is getting all available services. Recently, I had a student enter our school and at the 30-day follow-up meeting the parent shared Brent's evaluation of the student's strengths and areas of need. I was impressed by the comprehensive report and our team was able to address all the student's needs right away. Usually, it takes time for our staff to get to know the student and since the first 30-days at a new school are often a "honeymoon" period, we sometimes miss key issues. However, with Brent's report we were able to make sure the appropriate services were in place immediately, which made a smooth transition for this particular youngster.

Private schools often don’t have the staffing to evaluate the needs of those students who seem to struggle in school. Brent Cooper is the first person we recommend to parents for providing a thorough and extremely professional educational assessment. Brent has consistently delivered his evaluation information in a meaningful and timely manner which has proven invaluable to parents and our school.

"Our son was having trouble concentrating with his homework, requiring many hours to complete the required daily tasks. We began to question whether the work was too difficult, or he simply could not grasp the concepts. Fortunately, we found Brent. Upon first meeting him, my wife and I were both impressed by the way he made our son feel comfortable. His formal evaluation and assessment enabled us to determine what our son's unique learning style, which has contributed greatly to our son's academic progress and success. Brent is a blessing, and we would recommend him to anyone who is concerned about their child's educational issues."

As a psychotherapist in private practice I work primarily with adults. Many times those clients talk about the struggles their children are having in school and in more social settings with other children. It is without hesitation that I refer them to Brent Cooper for evaluation. I have found Brent's work to be of the highest caliber. The people I refer to him report that he is able to get to the heart of the problems affecting their children in a professional and non-threatening manner and make recommendations and referrals that produce real change in their families. I value and look forward to continuing my professional relationship with Brent in the years ahead.

Brent is respectful, and very professional in all his dealings with clients and service providers. It is refreshing to have such open and knowledgeable discussions with him regarding the strategies we will use as educators to enable his clients to access the curriculum. It is a true reflection of the care, concern and commitment he has to assist his clients.

We felt so lost, when the teacher told us that our son was having a very hard time paying attention in class. But not for long. After meeting with Brent and completing the educational assessment we felt in control, because we learned why our child was having difficulty and what could be done to help him learn how to pay attention in class. The best part, well there is actually many best parts; the assessment offered many "Aha! Moments" for us, Brent sought to help our son feel really good about himself, the teachers were provided with the information they needed to help our son succeed and our family now has an excellent source of ongoing support.

Brent Cooper, LEP is a wonderful asset to the Coachella Valley. He is helping to make a difference not only with local professionals, but what he can do to help children with problems and their families. He is knowledgeable in his field, caring, and goes out of his way to communicate his findings quickly with both families and other involved professionals. He is dedicated to his field, involved with his local community and easy to approach. I recommend his services often and parents are always pleased with this referral.

Brent Cooper is a huge blessing to the families at our school. When one of our student's is referred to him, I know that they will receive the best possible services for testing in the desert. Students and parents report to me that he is very patient, kind, caring and establishes a rapport with the student and their family during the testing process. This excellent way of working puts the student and their family at ease during the testing process.&nsp; After testing is done, Brent spends a good amount of time to debrief with the student and their family on the results of the test as well as answering any questions that they may have. Brent has worked extensively with teachers, my principal and I, on coordinating services for students at our school.
After the testing process is completed and if the parents consent, Brent has many times come to meet with our staff and families in Student Success Team meetings. These meetings are so valuable in setting up a good academic plan for the student. We are very grateful to Brent for the time he takes to be a part of these meetings. I have found Brent very easy to work with. He is always flexible to our needs. He is always ready to answer questions and to clarify areas we might not understand. I am very grateful to work with such a knowledgeable professional.
I highly recommend Brent Cooper for any Educational Testing needs!

I just wanted you to know that I am so grateful for your help and thorough evaluation for my son Kai. He has made a dramatic improvement in his grades and now actually seems happier.
That was Some Kind of Miracle!
Thank you so much!!!
Your extensive report and discussion of the results at our final meeting was informational, and helpful. You helped me better understand my grandsons learning disability. I always knew there were gaps in his education but the school wouldn’t believe me. It’s too bad!!! So much time passed by without him receiving the help he so desperately needed. Thank you for referring me to the learning institute for educational therapy. You are both a blessing. The care I have been given at your center has been very professional, prompt and honest. I would strongly suggest it to anyone.

My son attends Ronald Regan Elementary School in the Desert Sands School District. Meeting after meeting with the teacher, psychologist, and administrators, the school had nothing to offer and refused to evaluate my son saying there was nothing wrong with him. They used the excuse that he was too young to be tested. Coincidentally, I read your article in the newspaper the following morning and made an appointment to see you. Your service has been a life saver! It has been a tremendous relief to obtain a precise diagnosis, through your expert evaluation and interpretation. You guided us through the process at my son’s school and he is now receiving special accommodations due to his ADHD. You asked me to return a year later for a follow-up consultation and we discussed the tremendous progress Michael has made. You gave us the help and the answers I was looking for. You provided us with the knowledge and support we never would have received through the school.
Thanks Brent!
We've struggled with our son with the school environment since he entered kindergarten. He's repeated 1st grade, although he is listed as a "GATE" student, he had been diagnosed ADD, and most recently with "School Phobia", but we had yet to find a solution for a protected learning environment for our son who's now in 5th grade.
We were referred to Brent Cooper by a family friend whose child had similar problems with school and made an appointment for an evaluation of our son. After the testing was complete, we finally had an answer. The assessment proved what we already knew, that our son was above average intelligence, and that he had learning disabilities and an anxiety disorder that could not be "categorized", but were impeding his ability to attend school and get an education.
We are now working with the School District's "Special Education" program with Brent's guidance, to find the best solution for OUR child, Brent's help and insight has been a blessing to our family. We remain grateful for his experience and caring nature towards our child.
